WOMEN AND WEALTH

The Unique Needs Of Women
Women can face unique challenges, including balancing successful careers, taking time away to care for family or aging parents, or finding themselves suddenly single from a divorce, a partner death or a job loss.
How you approach these potential obstacles may differ.
We believe it makes sense for women to be as educated and involved as possible to the decisions impacting their finances and lifestyle.
Women are looking for a combination of products tailored to their needs, their goals, income generation, return potential and alignment with personal values.
The Women of Today
Women are now the primary breadwinner in 40% of U.S. households and now hold the majority of management, professional and related positions. Studies show that financial success isn’t simply about the accumulation of funds for the long term. For women, it’s about having the ability to achieve short- and medium-term lifestyle goals, and the freedom to make choices as opportunities arise. And while retirement is often the first thing that comes to mind when women think about investing, less than 20% cite it as their top financial goal. Financial stability, planning for long- and short-term goals, and achieving financial independence all take precedence.
Often, women feel more time poor than money poor, and this is particularly true for Gen X and millennial women, who are more likely to have children in the home. For women, quality of life in the here and now, matters immensely. Among their personal lifestyle goals, improving health and wellness, traveling or living abroad and achieving financial independence top the list. And women see investing as a mechanism to turn those goals into a reality.
Women are successfully competing in the corporate world and/or operating their own businesses. They start new companies twice at the rate of men. Women face many life transitions, including loss of a spouse and divorce that can threaten their sense of well-being. Women older than 65, are 50% more likely to be divorced or widowed. They live 5 years longer than men, but earn less and typically have less saved for retirement. It makes sense for women to plan for 25 – 30 years of retirement as many will live into their 90s. Finally, women are frequently called on to help manage the affairs of their aging parents and children. This can be both financially and emotionally challenging.
In a time-starved world, women are looking to delegate and find a partner they can trust.

As your life changes, we’ll be here to help you readjust and move forward with a financial strategy designed to meet your current and future needs. Financial planning provides direction and meaning to your financial decisions. It allows you to understand how each decision you make affects other areas of your finances.
For example, does it make more sense to use available dollars to pay off your mortgage early or contribute additional sums to your retirement account? By viewing each decision as part of a whole, you can consider the short- and long-term effects on your life goals. You can also more easily adapt when life changes do occur and feel more secure that you are on track to continue to reach your goals. We help women prepare for the distinct transitions that will inevitably impact their lives. We develop ongoing relationships with you that focus on your individual goals and objectives, and we work closely with you to create and implement a suitable financial action plan tailored to your particular needs. You will then be better prepared to handle the inevitable, and sometimes surprising, transitions that life throws at you.
To help women take control of their financial affairs, we have wealth planning services specializing in women and wealth.
